Our Research Team
Researchers in the Department of Brain and Cognitive Sciences at MIT are exploring the neuroscience behind social, sensory, cognitive, and behavioral aspects of autism.
Several research studies are actively seeking volunteers with and without diagnoses on the autism spectrum. To learn more about what’s involved go to the Get Involved page.
Cindy Li Outreach Coordinator
Cindy coordinates the involvement of participants in autism research at MIT. She manages and is involved in the administration of the intakes (your initial visit to MIT) and is the contact person for anyone interested in participating in autism research at MIT. Please feel free to reach out to her with any questions.
Our Research
Types of Studies
Each study is a little different. There are several kinds of studies, such as behavioral and brain imaging studies. In behavioral studies, researchers will measure your behavior or responses to questions. During imaging studies researchers take pictures of your brain or measure your brain activity.
Our Studies
We often have several current studies taking place, which may involve adults and/or children. When you complete the sign-up form, our coordinator will contact you to discuss the research process and your eligibility for a first visit.
Past Studies
After a study is complete, researchers analyze the data, summarize their findings, and then submit the article for publication. View a list of publications from completed studies and articles about our team’s ongoing work.
Our Community
MIT is a collaborative environment with researchers that span across various disciplines and institutes. Our research team is made up of scientists from the following:
